1. Flow Festival 9.-11.8.

Flow Festival is one the best-known festivals in Finland, and no wonder. It’s been described as a leading European music and arts boutique festival and the coolest festival in the Nordics. With a history of over 15 years, Flow Festival is already an institution, and an amazing experience every August. Showcasing both world-known superstars and emerging artists alike, the programme includes also visual arts and culinary experiences. So, head to Suvilahti and the area around a disused power station, an area clad in colours and lights.

2. Helsinki Festival 16.8.-1.9.

Over two weeks full of culture and experiences, that’s what you’ll get when you join the Helsinki Festival. Starting mid-August, the festival introduces programme with many different sorts of events, from concerts to visual arts and cinema. Art Goes Kapakka brings music, performance, poetry and improvisation to restaurants and bars around the city. The Night of the Arts celebrates its 30th year and the lovely Huvila festival tent in Hakaniemi serves as a unique venue for live music.

3. Magnesia Festival 2.-4.8.

Magnesia Festival is a heartful island festival is organised in the beautiful surroundings of Suomenlinna fortress. For three days, Magnesia will bring yoga, meditation, dance, music, healthy food and wellbeing workshops to the island. Join the happiness.

4. Kallio Block Party 3.8.

One of the most loved neighbourhood festivals is Kallio Block Party, in the streets and parks of Kallio district. A programme for the whole family including music, flea markets, and street food.

Already for a tenth time, this kids’ festival will bring all kinds of interesting things to do and see for children of all ages. Fun stuff and crazy programme for the whole family all day!

7. Art Goes Kapakka 15.-24.8.

Art Goes Kapakka brings music, performance, poetry and improvisation to restaurants and bars around Helsinki. A festival with hundreds of events will start with the traditional Tour of Choirs. Over 2000 singers gather to Senate Square to perform together and then the choirs spread out around the city to sing in the festival restaurants.

8. Espa outdoor stage: Jazz-Espa 29.7.-3.8. & Etno-Espa 5.-15.8.

You can enjoy free concerts in the heart of the city at Espa outdoor stage. In early August some excellent jazz performances and before mid-August some great contemporary folk music acts.

Probably the most legendary event in Helsinki in August: The Night of the Arts celebrates its 30th year and it’s the kick-off for the whole Helsinki Festival event. Amazing culture and art experiences in a warm August evening: Choose your own favourites and enjoy the feeling.

10. Sampo Festival 28.8.-1.9.

Memorable and fun puppet theatre performances for the whole family. Children and adults of all ages will definitely enjoy this programme featuring top puppet theatre and visual theatre experts from around the world.
