Vesikko is a restored Finnish submarine from the 1930. On board Vesikko, the visitor can acquaint himself with the submarine's tight working environment among electric motors and torpedoes. The experience is intensified by the sound environment created in Vesikko: the visitor hears the noise of the engines and the crew's commands and the sounds of a torpedo attack.
The submarine CV-707 was built in Turku on request from the Germans. It was completed in 1933. The Finnish state bought the boat in 1936, and named it Vesikko. Vesikko participated with four other Finnish submarines during the Winter War and the Continuation War.
After the wars, Vesikko was the only Finnish submarine to avoid scrapping. After extensive renovation, Vesikko was opened to the public in the Military Museum on Suomenlinna in July 1973.
Entrance included in Helsinki Card.
