The National Museum is closed for renovation from autumn 2023 to spring 2027.
The National Museum presents Finland's history from prehistory to our time. Set in a beautiful building dating back to 1910, the National Museum of Finland itself represents one of Finland's most significant and beautiful works of architecture of the national-romantic period.
At the National Museum of Finland, you find exhibits about scientists, politicians, war heroes, artists, life in the Middle Ages, sea adventures, architecture, the nostalgic 70's and a lot more. The collections include unique objects from more than 10,000 years.
The museum houses both temporary and permanent exhibitions. The permanent exhibition, Story of Finland, provides you with the moving story of Finland's road to independence, while the temporary exhibitions constantly provide new and fresh perspectives on a range of topics. You can also visit the café and the National Museum's new museum shop.
