Choose between dinner on the sun deck or inside
The cruise will head towards Katajanokanluoto, a small island outside of Helsinki where we will pick up the freshly baked pizzas. You can sit outside and enjoy the sea breeze or by a table inside the boat. The pizzas are straightforwardly served pre-sliced in take-away boxes.
Café/bar with beverages, snacks and desserts
The café/bar is open during the cruise and you can buy drinks, wine, coffee, snacks, and desserts. All products can be enjoyed also on the sun deck. Check the cafés menu here.
Discover Maritime Helsinki with Stromma's Archipelago Ships
Along the way, you will see the coastal areas of the city center and nearby islands.
After departing from the Market Square, we head towards Katajanokanluoto, where the crew picks up fresh pizzas for the cruise. The stop is quick, but if you go up to the boat's sun deck or peek out from the café/bar window, you can see the island's old pilothouse, which now serves as a café-restaurant. The delicious pizzas are baked in a stone oven in the shed at the waterfront.
After the brief stop at Katajanokanluoto, the journey continues past Katajanokka towards the Helsinki archipelago. Along the way, we see, among other things, the icebreakers spending their summer at Katajanokka, the magnificent sailing ships at Halkolaituri pier, the Korkeasaari Zoo, and the new neighborhood of Kalasatama with its high towers.
As we turn from the narrow strait into more open waters, we pass under the new Kruunuvuorensilta bridge and head towards the Suomenlinna Sea Fortress. After passing Suomenlinna, we weave through small islands and islets towards Löyly, the wooden design sauna, and continue along the city's shorelines back towards the Market Square.
On the ship, you will find route maps to follow the progress of the journey and explore the interesting sights along the route. The cruise does not have commentary.
Enjoy dinner in the archipelago in a sustainable way
Our pizzeria partner on Katajanokanluoto operates self-sufficiently with solar energy, obtains its water from purified seawater, and aims for the smallest possible carbon footprint.
Our vision at Stromma is to deliver world class experiences to our guests, and we want to do so responsibly and sustainably. Even small steps contribute to reaching our goals. Here are a few ideas how you can participate during your Pizza Cruise:
- You don't have to print your tour ticket with the QR-code. We can scan the QR-code on the screen of your mobile device.
- Please make sure to dispose of any waste properly, do not throw anything to the sea. There are bins available both in the inner and outer areas of the boats. Please note that outside on the sundeck wind might catch lightweight trash.
- We recycle all bottles and cans. Please sort empty bottles and cans in the designated bins.
For our dedication to sustainability we have been awarded with the Travelife Certified status. This reward extends to both the Pizza Cruise and the Helsinki Sightseeing brand. Come join us in spending an unforgettable evening in the stunning Helsinki archipelago!
