Join our Hop On-Hop Off City Sightseeing tour that stops at the Royal Palace. The planning began in 1821 and the palace was built for King Carl Johan, but was not completed until 1849, under King Oscar I.
The palace was designed by Hans Ditlev Franciscus von Linstow and was built in neoclassical style with a tiled brick facade, it is surrounded by a magnificent park of lawns, tall trees, small ponds and statues.
The palace guard change can be seen every day at 13.30. The palace is open for visitors during the summer, all visitors must follow a guided tour.
