What has been the one thing that you’ve missed most during the pandemic, apart from spending time with friends and family? Is it going out to bars or restaurants, or maybe watch a musical or a show? Do you love football and have waited to watch a game live? We have listed some of the things you can do again when the restrictions are lifted on the 29th of September. At the bottom of this page you can find a map of where to find all of our tips.

The Government’s ”Stage 4” – this will happen

On the 29th of September the Government is planning to implement Stage 4 in easing the restrictions put in place during the pandemic. This stage will include:

• The maximum allowance for participants during public events is removed
• The maximum allowance for participants during private events is removed
• All restrictions applying to bars and restaurants are removed
• The guidelines to work from home are removed

Christmas dining in Stockholm

The Christmas buffet is one of Sweden’s most beloved traditions, and many are looking forward to being able to enjoy it with friends and family again this year. Why not book one in a unique setting to make the experience extra special?

Christmas at historical Vaxholm’s Kastell
Every year a unique Christmas atmosphere is created under the arches in Restaurant Pansarbatteriet at historical Vaxholm’s Kastell. Here you can enjoy a generous traditional Swedish Christmas buffet with modern elements and vegetarian options. You travel to Vaxholm’s Kastell via boat that departs from Strandvägen in central Stockholm. On the way there you can lean back, enjoy the views and some mulled wine and gingerbread biscuits. 

Tip – For groups of friends, family or colleagues that like a challenge we highly recommend that you book one of the Christmas activities available, such as Prisoners at the fortress. 

Best restaurant tips in Stockholm

Whilst restaurants have mostly stayed open during the pandemic, certain things, such as number of guests allowed per table, have been restricted. This will now be a thing of the past – allowing you to invite friends or family for a meal at your favourite restaurant again!

The entertainment industry was hit hard by the pandemic, and things like shows, musicals and concerts have been missed by many!

Finally you will be able to see the successful musical from Broadway and West End at China Teatern in Stockholm. It’s a colourful musical filled with music from New York in the 70’s and glittering disco outfits.

Prisoners at the fortress – group challenge
Enjoy a unique adventure with friends, family or colleagues and book the experience “Prisoners at the fortress”. The challenge consists of both mental and physical challenges and the goal is to together solve the puzzle by solving problems at different stations on the island and the team that reaches the treasure cage first wins!
