Alexanderplatz
Here you find the famous radio and TV tower Berliner Fernsehturm. The tower was built from 1965 to 1969 and has a height of 368 meters. Here you also find die Weltzeituhr (the world clock), a giant clock that shows time in other countries and the colourful Fountain of International Friendship.

Karl-Marx-Allee & Frankfurter Allee
Karl-Marx-Allee is a long parade street that runs through the eastern and central districts of Friedrichshain and Mitte, from Alexanderplatz via Strausberger Platz. The boulevard ends at the impressive Frankfurter Tor where it changes to Frankfurter Allee.

Friedrichshain
This neighborhood was former part of East Berlin, and still has some of the wall remaining. Today it’s an artsy neighborhood known for its artistic collectives, techno and punk-clubs and Berlin’s most lively nightlife.

East Side Gallery
An outdoor gallery that consists of a series of wall paintings painted directly on the 1,316 meters long remnant of the Berlin Wall. It is located near the Berlin Ostbahnhof train station by the River Spree in the Friedrichshain district. On the eastern wall are 160 paintings by various artists from all over the world.

East Side Mall
The new shopping mall hosts around 120 shops, restaurants, cafés and retailers, in three floors. The Mall is located next to Mercedes Benz Arena.

Oberbaumbrücke
This bridge is a well-known landmark for Berlin. When Berlin was divided, the bridge was a pedestrian crossing. Today it connects the two districts of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. The Oberbaumbrücke offers great views and is a popular photo spot.

Uber-Platz
The new city complex Uber-Platz (former Mercedes-Platz) near the river Spree is located along the East Side Gallery. Here you find event arenas, hotels, cinemas, bowling, restaurant, shops and outdoor areas and fountains.

Ostbahnhof
One of the largest train stations in Berlin located in the city east in the district Friedrichshain. It connects long-distance trains, regional trains and the commuter trains S-Bahn.

Nikolaiviertel

Nineties Berlin
Nineties Berlin is a multimedia exhibition showcasing the wild and colorful Berlin of the 1990s. The decade that began in Berlin after the fall of the Wall had a lasting impact on the city. The exhibition captures this time and shows the traces of the 90s with real parts of the wall, sculptures and interactive elements.

MUSEUMSINSEL

LINE 1: BUS STOP 4

The Museumsinsel is the northern part of the island Spreeinsel in the river Spree. It’s named after the five state museums located on the island; Altes Museum, Neues Museum, Alte Nationalgalerie, Bode-Museum and the Pergamonmuseum.

Unter den Linden
Unter den Linden is the main boulevard in central Berlin that runs from Schlossbrücke in the east to Pariser Platz in the west. Along the street there are exclusive shops and car dealers who deal with luxury cars. There are also many nice cafes and outdoor restaurants here.

Humboldt-Forum
An ongoing reconstruction of the Berlin City Palace, the building will house the future Humboldt-Forum, which is scheduled to open in 2020.

This is possibly one of the most photographed places in Berlin and an iconic symbol for the city. The Brandenburg Gate is an 18th-century neoclassical monument, built during the period of King Frederick William II. The gate has a long history and has played different roles for the city.

Siegessäule
The Siegessäule, the victory column, is located in the middle of Tiergarten. It ranks as one of Berlin’s most famous landmarks. The official name of golden statue on top may be Victoria, after the goddess of victory, but the Berliners call her simply Goldelse. At the top, just below Victoria, is a viewing platform that offers great views over Berlin. In the lower part of the Siegessäule you'll a museum of the monument's history.

Kulturforum
Kulturforum is located on Potsdamer Platz and consists of numerous museums. Together they house the European Art Collection. The buildings at the Kulturforum also include the Philharmonic Hall, the State Library and the State Institute of Music Research with the Museum of Musical Instruments.

Neue Nationalgalerie
The gallery has a great collection of 20th century art from famous European and American artists, such as Salvador Dalí, Francis Bacon, Ferdinand Hodler, Edvard Munch, Pablo Picasso, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Max Beckmann, Paul Klee, Max Ernst, Wilhelm Nay, Gerhard Richter and Andy Warhol.

In the fall of 1989, the Berlin Wall fell; only a year later, the border facilities in the inner-city area were almost completely dismantled. In this area you can find remains of the Wall and memorial signs.

The museum Topographie des Terrors showcases the crimes of Nazism before and during the Second World War. It is located at the site where SS and Gestapo had their headquarters.

Checkpoint Charlie
Checkpoint Charlie is the most famous former border crossing between East and West Berlin. The checkpoint brings history back with its guards, booth, flags, barriers, and sandbags based on the original. At the Mauermuseum located next to the checkpoint, you can learn more about the history.

GENDARMENMARKT

Gendarmenmarkt
The beautiful square Gendarmenmarkt is located in the district Mitte, surrounded by the amazing French and German cathedrals, Berlin Concert Hall and the statue of the German poet Friedrich Schiller. During the summer there are outdoor concerts at the square and in December Gendarmenmarkt is hosting a popular Christmas market.
