Our boat "Partypaddan" is one of a kind, a rebuiled sightseeing boat with lounge seating in comfortable sofas with cofé tables. A perfect platform for social events like after work or a pleasant transportation together with friends and collegues.

Live guide included

You are welcome to bring your own food and drink. Live guiding is always included i the price when you rent a paddan boat, but you can also choose to listen to music or use the microphone yourself.

The rental price varies depending on the date and type of event.
Price: from SEK 7 700 per hour

10-30 people: from SEK 7 700 for the first hour,
from SEK 3 950 for the next hour

31-73 people: from SEK 11 400 for the first hour,
from SEK 4 550:- for the next hour

The boat accommodates a maximum of 73 people. This may vary depending on the season and type of event.

Travel/drink arrangement: No licence for serving alcohol. If you charter the boat, it's allowed to bring own food and beverages.
Sun deck: Yes, only.
Winter traffic: Yes, when it's ice free.
WC: No.
Impaired mobility: The boat is not adjusted for impaired mobility.

History

The first Paddan sightseeing tour departed on the 15th of June in 1939. It was Gunnel Mattson, normally the owner to a travel agency in Göteborg, who had got a permission to install a small ticket kiosk on the east side of Kungsportsbron where she sold tickets to the Paddan tour.

The first Paddan boat was a rebuilt “Kosterbåt”, a type of wooden boat originally used to sailing on the west coast which is named after the Koster Islands. Gunnel thought this boat looked like a toad when it lay on land with the bottom up. Padda is the Swedish word for toad so this is the origin of the name for the boats.

1942 the first Paddan-boat that looks like the boats of our time got built. After this the fleet got a new boat almost every year. During the winter 1947-1948 Paddan 4 was built, the oldest Paddan boat that stills run in traffic in today’s fleet.

Did you know...

Already the tour guides at Paddan in the 1950 were known to guide about in a humorously way that wasn't to be seen anywhere else? But they were strictly forbidden to joke about Stockholm and its inhabitants, a prohibition that is repealed today.
