Travel to the most popular archipelago islands with the Cinderella Boats

The Cinderella Boats is a fast and easy way to travel to the many gems in the Stockholm archipelago. Wondering which islands to visit? We have made a short guide with an introduction to some of the most popular destinations in the Stockholm archipelago.

Family friendly Grinda
From central Stockholm it will take you about an hour to reach the archipelago island of Grinda if you travel with the Cinderella Boats. The island has plenty of child-friendly beaches or rocks to swim from. The island sports a lovely scenery with nature and grazing animals. You can stop to eat at  Grinda Wärdshus or. Framfickan.

Did you now that Stromma used to run a development project with WWF and Skärgårdsstiftelsen for several years with the purpose of preserving and restoring the nature on the island? There are several hiking trails with signs were you can read about the environmental work being done there.

Archipelago gem Sandhamn
In the outer parts of the archipelago you can find the island of Sandhamn, a popular destination for excursions and a firm favourite with the sailing crowd. On the south side of the island you can find the white sandy beach of Trouville – perfect for a spot of sunbathing. The island also has plenty of shops and restaurants.

Vaxholm – the capital of the archipelago
The picturesque town of Vaxholm is located only an hour from central Stockholm. Here you can stroll along the cobbled streets, admire the wooden houses in the older parts of town, look in the shops, enjoy an ice cream on the quay or bite to eat in one of the many restaurants. Don’t forget to take the line ferry across to historical Vaxholm’s Kastell.

Idyllic island Gällnö
Gällnö is a well preserved island with old houses and lush meadows were animals graze freely. Enjoy a dip in the sea or hike along the 4 kilometre long trail Gällnöstigen. At Gällnö Bar you can grab a bite to eat and drink.

Möja – classic archipelago island
The island of Möja can be explored on bike – it will take you 30 minutes to cycle from Berg on the southern part of the island to Långvik in the north. There are bikes available for hire at Möja Vandrarhem. Don’t miss the views from Vårdkaseberget, a visit to the old wooden church and dining at well renowned fish restaurant Wikström’s Fisk.

Experience nature on lush Svartsö
Here you can hike, bike eat and enjoy the lush nature. If you think the sea is too cold you can enjoy a dip in one of the lakes on Svartsö. The island hosts many resident artists and a local community association. Enjoy a bite to eat at Svartsö krog or Bistro Sågen.

Activities on Södra Ingmarsö
Södra Ingmarsö is the perfect destination if you crave adventure and activities. Here you can hire a bike, kayak or boat, fish or hike along one of the many trails. There are spots to swim and restaurants, shop and a bakery. The island also has many lakes like Storträsk, Lillträsk, Bergmar and Maren.

Cosy island Finnhamn
