Svartsö is 8 km long and about 1 km wide. The island is inhabited all year, but in the summer the island enlivens when many people move here to their summer residences to spend vacation. Svartsö is one of the largest island in the archipelago and is located in the northern part of Värmdö archipelago.
Rent a bike if you want to explore the island during the day, bicycle rental is located in Alsvik. For hikers, there are plenty of hiking trails - stay here at least for one night if you want to see the whole island.
Glamping is like camping, but much more comfortable. The idea with glamping is to have a close to nature experience without losing the comfort. Svartsö Logi offers furnitured canvas tents right on the beach. The tents have beds with cozy comforters and pillows and outside each tent there is a small sun terrace with outdoor furniture.
Svartsö Skärgårdshotell & Vandrarhem offers hotel rooms and hostel accomodation by the water. The island also has seaside cabins and cabins with a sauna for hire.
Bistro Sågen opened about two weeks ago - it almost feels like you enter the countryside of the American south when you arrive here. They serve grilled meat, burgers, desserts, entrees and more, all made of quality ingredients. Well worth a visit.
On the island you will also find the reputed Svartsö Krog which is known for its simplicity and exquisite flavors. For a meal on the go or a cup of coffee - try Svartsögrillen or the café in Alsvik.
