Finnhamn is a nature reserve owned by the Archipelago Foundation. The island is located in the northern part of the archipelago and is a group of islands consisting of Stora Jolpan, Idholmen and Lilla Jolpan. Finnhamn has one main road that leads to most of the sights - just follow the road signs and you will find your way.
At Finnhamn there are a lot of things to do and there's an activity for everyone. Ragnar's kiosk offers kayaks, rowing boats and SUP for rent, there is an outdoor gym next to the main road at Stora Jolpan, and there are several soccer fields around the island.
Finnhamn has many smaller beaches and lots of cliffs to sunbathe from. Paradisviken offers a bathing site perfect for families with children and if you want to find a more secluded spot, head down to the water nearby the grocery store passing the small red cottages.
Idholmens gård is an organic farm in the middle of the archipelago. Buy fresh eggs, freshly harvested organic vegetables, homemade jams and flavored oils in the farm shop.
Are you hiking? Follow the hiking trail signs placed around the island. For those who are island hopping, a rowing boat connects Finnhamn with Kålgårdsö and Ingmarsö. There always has to be one boat on each side of the strait. Take one rowing boat to the island you are going to, row back with the other boat as a trailer, and then row back again. A simple and charming solution.
At Finnhamn Café and Krog you can enjoy a nice dinner or a drink with a view on the rooftop bar. Ragnar's kiosk sells ice cream, coffee, salads and more.
The hostel Utsikten is situated on a hill with beautiful views. Stay in the 100-year-old merchant villa or in the cottages nearby. There is cottage village on the island of Idholmen. Here you truly live close to nature - a step outside the door and you stand right in the middle of the woods. Finnhamn also has a camping site, and Sjölängorna located right by the ocean.
