Strömma Kanalbolaget's canal ship M/S Strömma Kanal (built 1975) was specially built to handle the narrow and shallow passages in Strömma canal. The boat takes 30-120 people and is suitable for mingling arrangements, transport, and lunch and dinner cruises in both Lake Mälaren and the Stockholm archipelago.
In the dining room, there is a well-equipped bar - the dining room and bar are in the same saloon with only one step between the lower and upper part. The boat has a more modern interior with light colors and wooden details and a generous amount of light through its large windows. On the upper deck, there is a large sun deck with many seats.

Together with our restaurateurs, Stromma works continuously to reduce our environmental impact. In our restaurants, for example, we do not use single-use plastic, we only use environmentally friendly cleaning products, we only serve environmentally and fair-traded coffee and tea, etc. Please read more about our sustainability work.
The History of M/S Strömma Kanal
In 1975, M/S Strömma Kanal was built on the order of Ångfartyget AB Strömma Kanal at the shipyard Boghammar Marin AB on Lidingö. She was built to be able to drive in the narrow and very shallow Strömma channel. Initially, however, the ship had to operate the route Stockholm to Drottningholm when S/S Drottningholm had engine problems. Later that year, the ship was sold to Tore Ulff AB in Stock and then operated its planned route Stockholm - Sandhamn via Strömma Kanal. Strömma Kanalbolaget bought her back in 1986 and then sold her to Modulföretagen Piadata AB in Stockholm in 1988, and finally bought her back in 1993.
Did you know that M/S Strömma Kanal was specially built to be able to drive through Strömma Kanal - only 1.10 meters deep?
